About Us

The GIZ internal sector network TUEWAS (Transport, Environment, Energy and Water in Asia) was established in Bonn, Germany in 2002, as a platform for regional professional exchange and cooperation between GIZ experts in Asia and at head office. Currently, TUEWAS connects over 50 projects across 16 Asian countries in the field of transport, environment, energy and water.

In order to promote greater collaboration with similar thematic relevance, TUEWAS has set up joint work clusters with other networks in the region, namely Sector Network Natural Resources and Rural Development Asia (SNRD Asia and the Pacific) and Sector Network Governance Asia (SNGA). As a result, more than 150 individuals are actively involved and its Secretariat is located in Bangkok.

OUR STRUCTURE

The work of TUEWAS is governed by a Steering Group. This consists of TUEWAS Spokesperson, representatives from sectoral and regional departments from headquarters and Working Group Speakers. The day-to-day work of the network is coordinated and supported by the Secretariat which is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
